Manufacturing Engineer – Development
Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer - Development is responsible for the industrialization of a new project from initial RFQ to validation during production. They will serve as the primary technical liaison between the Moldtech, potential customers, suppliers, and tooling manufacturers. The Manufacturing Engineer – Development ensures open and constant communication among all stakeholders, and ensures new projects meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Oversee all initial phases of communication with potential new customers, including review of RFQs, design reviews, and generating quotes.
· Work directly with customers to understand project requirements, then clearly define all project requirements and communicate to Moldtech team.
· Develop project timelines and ensure milestones are achieved on schedule.
· Lead design and development of new tooling and processes with the help of internal resources, tooling manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, and the customer.
· Support APQP deliverables such as PFMEAs, control plans, and PPAP submissions.
· Ensure work instructions, process parameters, and quality requirements are clearly defined and documented for hand-off to production.
· Conduct trials for new materials, compounds, and tooling, and validate results before production release.
· Assist other initiatives of the Engineering team as directed by management.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
· 3–5 years’ experience in mold design, preferably in rubber molding (compression, transfer, injection).
· Knowledge of rubber curing, flow, and shrinkage characteristics.
Skills & Competencies
· Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
· Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and ISO/IATF quality requirements.
· Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
· Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
· Ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
Compensation: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
