Job Summary:
The E-Commerce Data Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, governance, and execution of product data across e-commerce and marketplace platforms. This role oversees digital merchandising structure, data integrity, pricing support analytics, and competitive intelligence to ensure a best-in-class customer experience and operational efficiency.
The E-Commerce Data Manager partners cross-functionally with Product Development, Sales, Operations, and Marketing to build scalable data frameworks, optimize digital merchandising performance, and support revenue growth. This role serves as the subject matter expert and owner of product data standards across all digital channels.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee digital merchandising strategy across e-commerce platforms.
- Own product taxonomy, hierarchies, attributes, filters, and search optimization to improve customer navigation and conversion.
- Establish and maintain product data governance standards to ensure consistency, completeness, and scalability.
- Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of merchandising strategies and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Oversee data audits, normalization processes, and quality controls prior to platform implementation.
- Support and help design strategic pricing models through structured data analysis.
- Develop and manage large product datasets, including data scraping initiatives and structured file creation.
- Build reporting dashboards and KPIs to track merchandising effectiveness, data accuracy, and revenue impact.
- Partner with IT and Operations to streamline workflows supporting purchasing, shipping, and invoicing.
- Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual data manipulation and improve accuracy.
- Train internal stakeholders on data standards and best practices.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong data management and governance mindset.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data manipulation).
- Experience working with product taxonomies, complex hierarchies, and digital merchandising structures.
- Strong understanding of pricing strategy fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present insights to leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with data scraping and automation tools preferred.
- Working knowledge of e-commerce platforms and marketplace environments strongly preferred.

Compensation: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
